Position Summary: Job Developer supports social service clients in job searching and placement. Establishes and maintains working relationships with employers, industry organizations, and public agencies to source job openings and secure employment and vocational training opportunities for clients. A job developer evaluates an individual’s background, skills, and interest and matches potential job openings or trainings.
Pay rate: $18.46 hourly/38,400 yearly
JOB DUTIES:
Develops an individualized employment plan for each client
Write complete and detailed individualized employment plans outlining Qualifications
Actively collaborate with area employers to create job opportunities for participants
Notify prospective employers of the Work Opportunity Tax Credit, the fidelity bonding incentive, and any other benefit for hiring participants (Refer to the United States Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration, www.doleta.gov website for additional information)
Prepare and updated records of employers that are hiring and interested in candidates
Discuss job requirements, training, rehabilitation resources, and assist in formulating plans to achieve employment goals
Refer participants to appropriate employers, training and educational facilities, community agencies and other organizations, if applicable
Provide employment services including resume writing, mock interviews, time management, how to get along with others in a work environment, and how to follow instructions
Assist participants to become prepared for the workforce
Assist participants in locating and securing employment, educational services
Assist participants in assembling the necessary documents to legally work within California and completing their initial resume
Work with participants once they have been placed into employment
Work with participants to address issues that may rise after job placement
Assist participants who lose their job in again securing job placement
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications
EDUCATION:
High school diploma (or GED/High School Equivalence Certificate) - Must be over the age of 18 years.
EXPERIENCE:
1 year of experience as job developer or case manager Bilingual in English and Spanish
